Subsidonyms

The Sometimes Weekly Publishing Company owns and operates several subsidonym brands that support and advance Sometimes Weekly.

MovieViral.com was founded by Nick Butler and Dan Koelsch in 2009 and served as the premiere online news outlet for film-related viral marketing news from 2009-2015. The publication was cited internationally for its coverage of alternate reality games and viral marketing campaigns, including in the L.A. Times, The Guardian, and an Iron Man 3 commercial. Six years after its founding, MovieViral.com was sold to private investors, operating independently for eight years before being reacquired in 2023 by Sometimes Weekly, LLC.

“Over at MovieViral.com, there’s a website a website full of people picking through the detritus of the web … asking themselves and each other, what does it all mean?”

The Guardian, December 2010

W Corp. was founded by Dr. V. Elon in 2023 and acquired by TwainAI in 2025, along with OpenW and its revolutionary EvenSmarterChildGPT™ astrointelligent self-authoring car.

Trump.Holdings was formed in 2024 to consolidate several other Trump-related subsidonyms, including Trump.Singles, Trump.Attorney, Trump.Dog, and the TronaldDump.Foundation.

Fairly Unbalanced was a satirical news outlet founded in 2008 that operated as a fake news website and produced exactly two surprisingly high-quality satirical news reports that same year (1, 2). The Fairly Unbalanced brand briefly relaunched in 2022 on Substack before becoming Punch Weekly and shuttering once again in early 2024.

Launched in 2023, FULL SATIRE is Sometimes Weekly’s boldest brand.
